Ett ovanligt stort elskåp som hamnade 50 cm ut i vägbanan har blivit en ny turistattraktion på Chaweng Beach i Koh Samui, Denchai kallar lådan på sociala medier för det nya "landmärket" i Samui och föreslog en smula sarkastiskt att "om du inte har tagit dig en bild tillsammans med den har du inte varit på Koh Samui!"

Thai social media and national television was having a huge laugh at the expense of red faced provincial electricity authorities in Koh Samui.
Instead of a usually small and modest electrical box, the kind seen all over Thailand on footpaths, someone had decided to put a huge one at Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui.
It is so big that it juts out into the road 50 centimeters.
After complaints from the locals yet more embarrassment came as a man called Denchai posted on a popular Samui fanpage footage of two attractive western tourists taking pictures next to the electrical box.

Denchai called the box the new "landmark" of Samui and suggested a tad facetiously that "if you haven't had your picture taken with it you haven't been to Samui!"
All this has brought in the authorities who declared the "monster box" was "mai suay" - not pretty.
Now they are deciding what to do to address the issue.
