Part of Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district declared rabies zone

A rabies control zone has been declared in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district after an infected animal was detected. Strict guidelines are in place to prevent an outbreak.
A livestock development officer has declared the Klong Sam Prawet subdistrict of Lat Krabang district in Bangkok a rabies control zone.
Sayant Pongkhan, acting chief of Bangkok’s livestock development area 3, invoked the Pathogens and Animal Toxins Act B.E. 2558 to declare the rabies zone for the subdistrict from Thursday, November 27, to December 26.
In the declaration order, Sayant stated that an animal with rabies had been detected in the area, and measures were necessary to prevent the spread of the disease.
The area under rabies outbreak control is defined as follows:
- Northwards: To the boundary of Saen Sab subdistrict in Minburi district of Bangkok
- Southwards: To the boundary of Tambon Rajatheva in Samut Prakan’s Bang Pli district and Tambon Sisa Jorake Noi in Samut Prakan’s Bang Sao Thong district
- Eastwards: To the boundary of Thap Yao subdistrict in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district
- Westwards: To the boundary of Klong Song Ton Noon subdistrict in Lat Krabang district and Lat Krabang subdistrict in Lat Krabang district.
