Swedish man injured in Sisaket knife attack
Körde över släkting kycklingar ...
A 61 year old Swedish man suffered a fractured skull after allegedly being attacked with a knife by his Thai uncle-in-law in Sisaket.
The victim said the confrontation began after he accidentally ran over three chicks while driving near his home in Khukhan district. He reportedly apologised and tried to explain what happened, but the relative allegedly refused to listen and the situation quickly turned violent.
The Swedish man claimed he was struck on the head with a knife before his wife and other relatives intervened. He later received 30 stitches and spent around a week in hospital recovering from his injuries.
The victim has since sought assistance from the Saimai Survive organisation, saying the suspect had not yet been arrested. He expressed concern for his safety and called for justice over the attack.
The incident has raised questions about local conflict resolution, police response, and protection for foreign residents living in rural communities. Authorities are expected to continue reviewing the case as pressure grows for action.
