## THE DISNEYLAND RAYONG DEEP-DIVE: RUMOR VS. REALITY
OFFICIAL STATUS: THE "PPP" FEASIBILITY STUDY
As of late March 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has officially confirmed that "Disneyland Thailand" is no longer just a dream. The government has transitioned from "talks" to a formal Public-Private Partnership (PPP) feasibility study.
The proposed project is a massive 300-billion-baht mega-development covering approximately 5,000 rai of land. To put that in perspective, it would be larger than the Shanghai Disney Resort.
WHY RAYONG? THE EEC "MAGNET" STRATEGY
Rayong and Chonburi are the primary contenders for the site. The Ministry of Transport's logic is that the park is essential to save the "stalled" mega-projects in our province, specifically:
The High-Speed Rail: Connecting Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, and U-Tapao.
U-Tapao Aviation City: The park would provide the massive passenger volume needed to make our local airport a global hub.
THE "NO CASINO" GUARANTEE
One critical update for our community: The government has officially pivoted away from the "Entertainment Complex" model that included a casino. Disney’s global policy strictly forbids proximity to gambling. Therefore, if the project moves forward in the EEC, it will be a family-oriented landmark only.
