Never buy Land or Houses in Thailand !!! I am a contractor from Tennessee in the USA. I hate to be a pessimist but these houses would not pass any kind of inspection in the USA.
These homes look beautiful until they start falling apart. Which is in about 1 year. Homes in Thailand are built with the cheapest materials possible. The electric is absolutely dangerous and the septic and plumbing is horrible. If you don’t believe me. Just come see for yourself. Thai houses are complete crap ! No insulation and Single pane windows.
The Air Conditioning will run constantly and your electric bill will be expensive. I watch all the stupid foreigners come here and spend their money in this crap. Thai land can not be in your name. As Simon said it’s in a holding company. That means corruption and scams and you are screwed. When these houses start to fall apart you will not be able to sell it off.
A lot of condos are in a no sale status because of foundation issues. I have a friend from USA that purchased 2 condos in Phuket and is now stuck with them. The land deeds are in a owner hold status and can not be resold because the whole building is leaning to the left and the foundation is caving in ! You have been warned ! Never buy anything in thailand that can’t be put in your name !
