Thailand has been declared the “Best Destination Outside Europe” at a travel awards ceremony in Denmark. The Danish Travel Awards 2023 voted Thailand the winner of the category, the first time the award has been bestowed on the kingdom.
Nation Thailand reports that the Danish Travel Awards are organised by Travelmedia Nordic, a travel media platform for travel professionals in the Nordic region. The awards have been running for 26 years, recognising outstanding players in the travel industry.
This year’s event took place in Copenhagen earlier this month, with more than 500 travel professionals, from the worlds of tourism and aviation, in attendance. The awards were split across 3 categories: airlines and travel, hotels and tourism in Denmark, and foreign tour operators.
The award for Best Destination Outside Europe was given to Thailand following a survey carried out by the Danish analytical institution, Epinion, in which over 3,000 Danish travellers were surveyed.
Nation Thailand reports that the award underscores the kingdom’s popularity among Danish travellers, with data showing over 80,000 Danes visited Thailand in the first half of this year, a significant increase on the same period last year. The number is expected to increase further during the forthcoming high season.

Värt att notera är att Thai Airways INTE vann priset för bästa flyg Intercontinental, Thai kom inte ens bland på pall plats. Att Thailand vann bägge kategorier var tidigare like sant som amen i kyran.

Trevligt angående de platser som brukar vara de primära målen för många som kommer för att vistas mycket i Thailand från Youtubern som också har kanalen ”Retired working for you”.
